Depending on your role, you may find it helpful to familiarise yourself with information that visitors sometimes ask for such as opening times, accessibility, entry prices, membership and so on. This information is on The Bishop’s Palace website and visitors really appreciate it if we can give them answers to their questions or point them to the website.

We include here other information that does not have an obvious home!

The Bevy Room

The volunteers have a dedicated space, whether that’s for a coffee, a biscuit, or a catch up. It’s located in the gatehouse behind the main gate (on the side of the TV). Inside is a table, chairs, a kettle, fridge, and a microwave for you to use. You can also feed the Palace swans here at around 1.00pm. Open the window and wait for them to ring the bell!

Annual Visit England Report 2023

Once again the Palace scored highly with lots of positive comments made. And we have again been given the status of ‘Quality Assured Visitor Attraction’. You will see  this award displayed. As always, areas for improvement have been highlighted and the management team will be looking at these and assessing what can be done and/or afforded. You can read the full report here. Please note that this is not for dissemination or comment outside of the Palace.
