Engaging Visitors

Our visitors are central to everything we do here at The Bishop’s Palace. We pride ourselves on:

  • Offering the warmest of welcomes and encouraging them to visit us again soon
  • Helping visitors learn more about The Bishop’s Palace, exploring and discovering it in engaging ways
  • Successfully directing visitors around the site, through interpretation, maps and signage. People are always best though, and this is where you may well be asked the question “how do we get to…?”

Our visitors like to know that we are a registered charity as it makes them feel they are playing a part in maintaining The Bishop’s Palace & Gardens for future generations to enjoy. So please spread awareness of our charity status and that we always need and, most importantly, value the support from our visitors, be that through buying an entrance ticket, adding Gift Aid to their tickets, purchasing a guide book or a coffee, or donating a sum of money to one of our appeals.

We always get great feedback from our visitors on the welcome and help that you give them; speaking to visitors in a positive and warm manner is really appreciated! And don’t hold back from highlighting any new or planned developments, improvements (such as access), forthcoming events and always talk of a positive and bright future for The Palace.

As a proud volunteer we know you all engage with our visitors in the most positive way and we thank you! All feedback from chats with visitors is always useful to us, so please pass on comments to Siobhan Goodwin, Community Engagement Manager.
