Palace & Gardens

We have put together here a collection of information that we hope you will find interesting and helpful. Browse the different sections below to deepen your knowledge on topics that are relevant to your volunteer role, or that maybe you just have a personal interest in. We will add new material to this section as we acquire it and will alert you through the news page when this happens. To whet your appetite, here is a scan of a guide to the Palace and Gardens, printed in 1991.

We have a small library of books about Wells, bishops, etc.. These came to us as a bequest by a former volunteer and guide, John Cook. Details of the books in the library are listed here. Volunteers can borrow books at any time. Please contact Siobhan ([email protected]) if you wish to do so. A list of the books is also pinned on the board in the Bevy Room.

Please note that some of the documents are covered by copyright, as are illustrations, drawings and photographs. If you wish to reproduce any of the copyright material for reasons other than personal research, please check with Siobhan before you do so.
