City of Labyrinths at The Bishop’s Palace
30 – 31 May 2026
Step into a unique and reflective experience this spring as The Bishop’s Palace becomes part of Wells’ immersive City of Labyrinths weekend.

Throughout the weekend, visitors are invited to walk these temporary labyrinths, created through a special Sacred Geometry labyrinth drawing and construction course. Explore the labyrinths within some of Wells’ most atmospheric medieval spaces, including The Bishop’s Palace.

A mindful day out in Wells

Labyrinth walking is a quiet, meditative experience with no right or wrong way to take part. Whether you’re seeking a moment of calm, curiosity or something a little different, this is a chance to slow down and “enter inwards” in a truly special setting.
Within the Palace grounds, labyrinths will be available to explore across the weekend. The labyrinths will be in the Chapel on Saturday and in the Undercroft on Sunday.
The Palace Building will be closed from 1pm on Saturday, with the Chapel and Gardens remaining open until 5:30pm due to a wedding
Surrounded by 14 acres of tranquil gardens and centuries of history, it’s an ideal place to pause, reflect and experience this ancient practice.

Admission

This event is included with standard admission, including Day Tickets, Annual Passes and Friends of the Palace, and it’s part of the wider City of Labyrinths event across Wells.
