Families can step back in time this September as The Bishop’s Palace hosts a full day of Viking skills and medieval falconry.

Award-winning re-enactment group Draca Beordor will bring the 9th and 10th centuries vividly to life with immersive living history displays. Visitors can discover the forgotten skills of Viking craftspeople, meet fearsome warriors, and marvel at the weapons and combat techniques that once made the Vikings so formidable. Based in Somerset, the group are passionate about sharing the culture and traditions of the Viking world.

Adding to the atmosphere, the Palace will welcome back the hugely popular Medieval Falconry displays, with magnificent birds of prey taking to the skies at 12pm and 3pm. Families are encouraged to arrive in good time, as these demonstrations are a highlight of the day.

Alongside the special activities, visitors can enjoy exploring 14 acres of stunning RHS Partner Gardens, discover the popular Dragon’s Lair Play Area, and take a break at the Bishop’s Table café, serving homemade lunches, snacks, and drinks.

This family-friendly day out is included with any standard admission ticket, offering great value for visitors of all ages.
