Sketching Day in the Palace Grounds

  • 28th June 2024
  • 10.30am – 3.30pm (1 hour lunch break 12.30pm – 1.30pm)

Come and spend a wonderful relaxing day sketching in the grounds of The Bishop’s Palace.

During this session, you will learn different drawing exercises to help develop confidence and technical skills with a focus on sketching, tonal shading and mark-making.

Grow Your Own Cut Flowers Workshop

  • 13th July 2024
  • 9am – 12.30pm (short break included)

Grow your own patch of happiness. Taking place in our Community Garden, Bishop’s Palace Gardener, Jo Stevenson, will take you through some cut flower basics so you can fill your house with blooms and have a few spare to impress your friends! This workshop will cover which flowers are good for cutting, how to grow them and you will sow some seeds to take home. No previous growing experience necessary.

Autumnal Watercolour Workshop

  • 17th September / 25th October 2024
  • 10.30am – 3.30pm (1 hour lunch break 12.30pm – 1.30pm)

Spend a wonderful day learning how to complete a watercolour study of the seasonal veg grown in The Bishop’s Palace Gardens.

During this workshop, Gemma Lane from Green Fox Workshops will demonstrate a step-by-step process and application of using watercolours. The session will introduce the basics and more experimental ways of working with watercolour which can then be applied to the autumnal veg study.
