Celebrate a brilliant day out for all ages with the new Bishop’s Palace Open Day!

With FREE entry the Open Day will be your chance to discover this remarkable place, explore the site and enjoy a full programme of family friendly activities in a beautiful historic setting.

On the day, be amongst the first to enjoy the fabulous new “Splash Play Zone” in the Dragon’s Lair play area.  Water has always been at the heart of the Palace and gardens and the Dragon’s Lair play area will now be enhanced by a magical raining water tree, generating a light spray of water; a living canopy of plants; babbling boulders which will spray small jets of water and a shallow paddling pool. A bat house and bird box will be also be added to the area to ensure biodiversity.

Throughout the day there will also be games on the South Lawn, arts and crafts activities, garden talks from our team and hourly Palace and garden tours. Children can follow family trails, enjoy face painting and balloon animals, while grown ups take time to discover the gardens and medieval buildings at their own pace.
