Help shape a new “Fun and Games at The Palace” exhibition
Do you have a photograph tucked away of a day out at The Bishop’s Palace? Perhaps a snapshot of a wrestling match on the croquet lawn in 1967, a team photo from an It’s a Knockout competition in the 1970s, or even a programme, costume or keepsake from a memorable event?
We’re inviting our community to step back in time and share your memories as part of a new exhibition, “Fun and Games at The Palace.”
Unlike a traditional exhibition, this one will be shaped by our community as we’re calling on people to contribute your own photographs, memorabilia and stories, building a shared celebration of the many joyful, quirky and unforgettable events that have taken place here over the years.
From moat boat races to community celebrations, the Palace has long been a place where memories are made. Now, those moments will take centre stage.
Siobhan Goodwin, Community Engagement Manager at The Bishop’s Palace, said: “We know the Palace holds a special place in so many people’s hearts. This exhibition is all about celebrating those shared experiences; the laughter, the creativity and the sense of community that has always been part of this place. We’d love people to dig out their old photos, programmes or stories and help us tell that story.”
Whether it’s a large public event or a small personal moment, every memory will help build a rich and personal picture of the Palace’s past. The subsequent exhibition will be included with standard admission to the Palace.
