Discover Finding Home, a spring art exhibition at The Bishop’s Palace in Wells, Somerset.
Somerset-based artist Natasha Lee presents a collection of original watercolour paintings inspired by the Levels, the Mendip Hills and the ever-changing light of the West Country landscape. Set within the historic surroundings of the medieval Palace and its 14 acres of RHS partner gardens, this exhibition offers a calm and reflective space to pause, breathe and reconnect with nature.
Entry is included with standard admission.
A Celebration of the Somerset Landscape
Through expressive watercolours, Natasha captures the beauty, stillness and subtle changes of Somerset’s natural scenery. Visitors will recognise elements of the Somerset Levels, the Mendip Hills, footpaths around Wells, Glastonbury Tor, and the seasonal shifts in light, colour and atmosphere
As Natasha explains: “My paintings are an attempt to share that happiness, love and enjoyment. My hope is to take the viewer by the hand and help them step into this world with me.”
About the Artist: Natasha Lee
Natasha grew up immersed in the outdoors, spending much of her childhood exploring the British countryside. She later studied Visual Art and French at Aberystwyth University, where the coastline of Ceredigion and the mountains of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) further shaped her creative perspective.
Now settled in Somerset, Natasha draws daily inspiration from the rich variety of landscapes surrounding Wells.
All paintings are executed in watercolour, a medium which must be treated with care. Natasha embraces the unpredictability of watercolour, allowing movement and flow to guide the final result.
A Reflective and Interactive Experience
Alongside the paintings, visitors are invited to contribute to a shared exhibition book. You can write about, or draw, your own favourite place in Somerset or beyond, adding your voice to this collective reflection on what “home” means.
Admission
Entry to the Finding Home exhibition is included with standard admission, including the Annual Pass, Day Tickets, the Joint Ticket with Wells Cathedral and Friends of the Palace.
