An exhibition of shortlisted works will be shown at The Bishop’s Palace in 2018 once again as part of Wells Art Contemporary.
Wells Art Contemporary is an open competition for UK and international contemporary visual art that has gained praise and respect in Britain and abroad. It was established in 2012 by a group of artists and their friends in Wells.
Following an international open call, 123 works by 118 artists were selected in 2018 from a total of 1,397 submissions from 26 different countries, the highest number of entries in the history of the Awards. The selection was made by a panel of leading figures from the art world including Caroline Walker, artist; Harry Borden, artist; Donald Smith, Director of Exhibitions, Chelsea Space; Julian Wild, artist; Peter Randall-Page, artist, and Tali Lennox, artist.

The selected works, spanning painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, installation and video, will be shown in the Exhibition room of the Palace from 6th - 21st October.
