A two-day introduction to traditional English willow basketry. During the course you will be guided through the process of making round willow baskets - you will be given opportunities to add your own ideas and style to your individual baskets.

All aspects of the process of making round willow baskets will be explained and information leaflets on buying, preparing and using willow as well as basket ‘recipes’ will be available for you to take home.

This comprehensive two-day course is designed as a solid foundation to future learning as well as being a fun and achievable introduction to the art of English willow basketry. 

Suitable for the complete beginner - or useful as a refresher to refine and improve skills already acquired. Willow work requires hand strength/flexibility - please contact the tutor should you have any questions about the suitability of the course.

Course tutor: Sarah Webb. Sarah is an experienced willow weaver and tutor. She makes a wide selection of traditional and contemporary baskets with an emphasis on quality and sustainability, and teaches at various centres including Musgrove Willows, Halsway Manor and RHS Rosemoor.
