Somerset folk duo Nathan Lewis Williams & Caelia Lunniss play traditional and original folk music, including historical story ballads, instrumental tunes and musical settings of poetry, with Nathan on vocals, bouzouki and guitar and Caelia on violin, viola and harp. They have played many concerts in the south west, including a series of annual concerts at the Chalice Well Gardens Glastonbury, and celebrations of English traditional music on St George’s Day. Originally from Wales, Nathan began his musical journey studying classical music and theatre, and went on to explore traditional Welsh songs and Breton dance forms, as well as the more familiar folk tunes of the British Isles, during a long exploration of “Interceltic” music with bands such as Dragonsfly and Circulus. Caelia studied classical music at Wells Cathedral School and Newcastle, and in addition to her work in this duo she is a member of Bristol based avant-classical band The Spindle Collective, whose debut album is out now.
