Ruth Gofton

After completing an MA in medieval history, specialising in church architecture, Ruth spent the next six years working in education and internationalisation, including four years in Japan for the Japanese government.

On her return to the UK, Ruth retrained in heritage management and interpretation, and then worked for the National Trust until 2009 as a manager for various sites, including Tyntesfield.

She is now self-employed, mainly writing business and audience development plans for Heritage Lottery Fund projects.

She lives in Clevedon, is also a trustee for the Curzon cinema, and has a keen interest in community and environmental sustainability.
