The Gardens are open, but please note that the Palace building is currently closed. Our opening and admission may change on a daily basis at the present time.

Admission tickets give access to the medieval Palace [CURRENTLY CLOSED],  ruined Great Hall, 14 acres of gardens, free Guided Tours [NOT RUNNING CURRENTLY], the Bishop’s Chapel and events (unless specifically ticketed). See HERE for a map of the site.

Pricing 2020

“Buy today, visit all year”

The new Adult ticket, (known as “The People’s Ticket”) is an annual return ticket costing £15 and allows the user to return as many times as they wish for a period of 12 months. The Child ticket (5-17 yrs) will cost £7.50.

*Gift Aid 

The Bishop’s Palace runs the Gift Aid on Entry Scheme. When you buy your ticket, we will offer you the Gift Aid Admission price; but it is entirely up to you, if you do wish to gift aid, just let us know when you come to pay.

Gift Aid Admissions let us reclaim tax on the whole amount paid** – an extra 25 per cent – all of which goes straight back into the upkeep of this unique, Grade I listed, historic site.

**Gift Aid donations must be supported by a valid Gift Aid declaration and a Gift Aid declaration can only cover donations made by an individual for him/herself or for him/herself and members of his/her family.

On the event days listed below, discounts, vouchers and passes cannot be used, except if stated. However, Palace Members,Wells Heritage Pass holders and HHA members have FREE entry on these event days, unless stated otherwise. Ticket prices on the event days listed are £10.25 Adult, £5.10 Child, £8 groups of 10+, £20.50 Family 1 adult, £28.50 Family 2 adults, unless stated otherwise.

Refund and Exchange Policy

Should you change your mind about your purchase we can offer an exchange or refund provided the item is returned within 28 days, together with the receipt.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

Guided tours are included in your admission ticket.

12pm & 3pm  Grounds Tour (45 mins)

*On the first Sunday of each month during the summer opening, a Geology tour will replace the Palace Tour at 11am for 1.5 hours, starting from the usual tour starting point by the Great Hall.
