17th October 2023, 9.45am – 4.30pm
Take a day out of your busy schedule to immerse yourself in the craft of photography, producing a handmade book containing your photographs.
In the demanding modern world we all make photographs everyday using our smart phones, but we tend to leave them on our phones unsure how to make the most of them and prolong their enjoyment. This one day workshop will take you through the essentials of smart phone photography, controlling exposure, focus and composition to get the very best out of the powerful device in your pocket.
You will then be shown a craft based process of making a print or series of prints to turn into a small handmade book, using a Japanese binding method that is simple and very easy to learn.
Giving your photographs a life after they have been shared on social media, these beautiful prints and books can made as delightful cards, books or gifts for family and friends.
The simple beauty of a printed photograph cannot be underestimated, but put it in a book of similar themed images and you have elevated the most beautiful and simple moments of your life to a precious and long lasting keepsake of memories.
