Hot Fuzz - 10th Anniversary Screenings

28th - 29th April 7:30pm - 11:00pm

Friday 28th April
7:30pm (doors) 9pm (film)

Celebrate 10 years “for the greater good” of Edgar Wright’s surprise comedy hit “Hot Fuzz” with a very special anniversary outdoor screening in the grounds of The Bishop’s Palace – a starring location in the film – as part of the second ever Wells Film Festival.

Top London cop, PC Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is good. Too good. And to stop the rest of his team looking bad, he is reassigned to the quiet town of Sandford. He is paired with Danny Butterman (Nick Frost), his witless new partner, who endlessly questions him on the action lifestyle. Everything seems quiet for Angel, until two actors are found decapitated. It is called an accident, but Angel isn’t going to accept that, especially when more and more people turn up dead. Angel and Danny clash with everyone, whilst trying to uncover the truth behind the mystery of the apparent “accidents”.

Starring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Martin Freeman, Hot Fuzz showcases the streets of Wells as the sleepy town of Sandford. With scenes filmed at The Bishop’s Palace, The Market Place, in The Crown and at St Cuthbert’s church, viewers familiar with England’s smallest city will delight in recognising the landmarks of Wells throughout the film.  And what better place to view the film on its 10th anniversary than on the Croquet Lawn of the Bishop’s Palace – the location of the NWA meeting and sacrifice scene!

The Drawbridge will open at 7:30pm with the film starting at 9pm. Tickets will include a BBQ meal and the bar will be open all evening. Ticket holders will be able to soak up the pre-screening atmosphere at the Palace with Hot Fuzz related entertainment and activities.

Cinema goers should bring their own low-backed seating or blanket and an umbrella as the show will go on whatever the weather. Please note you must be 15 or over to attend. Contains strong language and comic violence. Tickets £20 to include BBQ, available from Wells Film Centre www.wellsfilmcentre.co.uk
